Let's Ride!

It's August already?! I told myself that we would have at least one sale every season, well Fall is upon us and that means another sale day is in the works, good news for you! Hustle, hustle, hustle for me!

We just got back into the LC Design workshop after returning yesterday for our week long vacation to my hometown in the armpit of the Black Hills and the 75th Sturgis Rally. One, it is the last vacation together before harvest, I cannot believe it is that time again already! Two, when we vacation I do not think we just relax because our F350 was stacked high with new stuff and we sold stuff while we were home, which is awesome having fans 437 miles away from the basement workshop. Three, we have so many exciting things going on I do not know where to even start and I like telling exciting things but we will keep everyone on their toes and unveil them as they come and trust me, it is always exciting in our world so this is REAL good!

Now lets get to some fun pictures and stories.

First we rode the hills (in the truck) with my family and those who have become family then attended the Full Throttle Saloon, it's not the rally without doing that. Saw some pretty interesting things, little change of pace of SW Minnesota, but that is alright.

We then met up with AcV2 architecture, of course. We love going back to the office where I spent my summer months of 2012 at. We covered some important things like tater tot hot dish, pickles in beer, jello with vegetables in it, how no bar in Sturgis has lemonade, the kids, the business life, new projects and old, southern women, and literally everything in between! Always a good conversation and love that AcV2 has been such great mentors to me over the years and continue to have such a strong presence in my life and the growth of my business.
Then we got some time in with friends, some rain storm basketball games brother vs brother in law, that one is for the books. Paul rode his first horse, hilarious!

We hit Sturgis one last time for food and shirts, successful. Then made our way to Deadwood to the Social Club for dinner, always my favorite!

Then we hit the junkin' train! My mom has a friend she has known since her high school days, we won't say how long ago that was, that collects a lot of junk and sells it. The junk is held all over his property in semi truck trailers, a bus, many tin sheds, wood sheds, and just all over the grounds; which is super awesome and a different change of pace (and price) then auctions and farm places around the area. And it had a killer cute dog that had no idea how hilarious it was.

That night we went to dinner about 10 miles from home and came back to the aftermath of a hail storm. It is not the Sturgis Rally without at least one bad storm. Luckily, it was one of the last days so a lot of people had already left. My parents lost some windows in their unattached garage, the screens on their porch, and some water in the basement. And the truck got some dings, but could have been much worse.

Left some items for some AMAZING customers :)

We then made our way home FULL of some good stuff and Case knew we were getting close as we were welcomed with yet another rain storm.

All in all, great trip! Cannot wait to show what is up next in the LC Design life, let's ride!

You don't have to have it figured out to move forward...

I know, it has been awhile! Better then never though, right?

Let us hit a few exciting subjects in this one since I have neglected posting and there has some big milestones.

FIRST --

As everything happens to me, I was on my way to work and I got a phone call. I was running a bit late so I figured they would leave a message if it was important and I could give them a call back tonight or at my lunch break. The voice on the said,

"Hi Linsey, this is Jen from the Pipestone County Star and we heard about you and your business debuting at Watertower Festival. We would like to do a feature article on you [for the newspaper]…"
AHHHHHHHH! After I finished laughing I took a quick break to the back, called Jen, and scheduled a time the next day to meet with her. I went into the newspaper office and told my story for about an hour and came home. The paper didn't feature it until 3 weeks after the interview. In the meantime, I.was.pooping.my pants! I kept asking myself, 'Oh my gosh, did I sound like a snotty little girl?' ' Did I portray myself how I really wanted to?' 'Do they think I am just as awesome as I was when they called?', 'Is everyone going to understand what separates me from everyone else and other designers?' 'Did I turn my new last name into mud?', "Did I explain myself well enough she has no way messing up any information?!' The paper finally came out and the feedback from communities members were great! And the only thing she said that wasn't really spot on, Paul has a farm...makes us sound super successful in life and very awesome, but to clear it up...it is the family farm. Not big deal though ha!

If you missed the feature, here it is!

SECOND --

Of course I had to tell my AcV2 family! Patri was more than ecstatic, I could only imagine her jumping up and down and popping candy corn in her mouth while standing behind her desk in deep thought like I had seen many times...what to tell her next? As always, she had wise words for me; she told me to be myself, let the town get to know what I am and what I am about, what spirits me from other designers....and that she wanted to feature me on their AcV2(sday) blog. Second feature, holla! So I typed up my story in a run on sentence, which you will notice a lot from me, and sent it off. Her eyes got sweaty and it came out awesome! Like I have said a zillion, bajillion times before, AcV2 has been some of my biggest supporters, motivators, and mentors. I couldn't be more thankful. The comments, likes, and text messages resulting from their feature were heart-warming, thanks everyone!

Here is their blog post.

THIRD --
After AcV2 posting their blog The Historic Calumet Inn decided to 'share' it on their Facebook page and once again, love was busting at the seams again. So not only did it reach the AcV2 family from across the board, but now it has reached the community of Pipestone and those who visit Pipestone. Thanks for the support Calumet!

FOURTH --
This time things aren't coming in threes! This last weekend was Watertower Festival, the day in waiting! Everything went great!! A lot of people came through just to say they saw the great article in the paper and was so happy someone like me was in the area. Some came in and purchased. Some came in and heard about me for the first time, but everyone had great things to say. All in all it went so great and the booth was full when others were empty so it made me feel like I was doing something right!

LASTLY --

LC Design has been blowing up since the festival and the features. I am beyond moved my the outpouring love and support, I never thought it could be this good! I have many asking 'Well, do you have a store?!?!?!?!?' I wish I could say 'Yes! it is right down the street,' but for now it's me and my handsome husband widdling wood in the basement workshop. I hope that sooner rather than later I can open a shop, but I really don't want to settle for something; I want it to be good not just for me, but for all of you lovely patrons who are supporting me and what I pour my heart into. Right now you can follow me on our LC Design Facebook page. We will be posting items for sale and any upcoming shows or events we are involved in. If you have any suggestions on places you'd like to see LC Design or any leads on a nice place to home LC Design in Pipestone, please feel free to message me! A lot of people have been contacting us for customized orders and we are well on our way to fulfilling those and hope they keep coming in!

Thank you to every single one of you who is supporting LC Design. I cannot express how much it means to me. Wish I could hug you all.

Here are some pictures from the weekend that people were kind enough share. Enjoy! :)

Gold Heart, Red Barn

We have been very busy the last few weeks, sanding, standing, taping, sanding, glueing, drilling, welding, etc. etc...Everything is coming together, it is amazing and I wish I could keep it all for myself! We took the last weekend off to celebrate our 1st year anniversary at Lake Okobjoi but here we are at the month of June, that means we are in the month of Water Tower Fesitval, LC Design debut! :)  So we will be gearing into over time getting everything done and ready.

Last weekend we did a little barn wood salvaging. Since moving to little ole Pipestone I have met some of the most amazing people, so giving and loving in so many different ways. The connections you make are awesome! Well one of my favorite ladies I have met here mentioned to me that she had a barn that just needed to be destroyed and if I wanted to take anything from it I could and just take whenever I want. My heart bursted at the seams, her and her husband have a heart of gold as always and were so generous, they just told us to have it; that we did.

Also I am very thankful my brother and dad were in town that weekend to help out.

Here are a few shots!
